Ginger Cranberry Sauce

Ginger Cranberry Sauce

Ginger Cranberry Sauce

*This is my grandma's cranberry sauce and I just love it every year. It has a zippy tang you can't get from store bought or jello. After Thanksgiving I absolutely love this sauce over my Greek yogurt for breakfast or for a light snack.

Ingredients:

  • 1 bag fresh cranberries
  • 1 cup sugar (brown or white)
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons finely grated ginger
  • zest of one orange
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • Directions:

      1. Combine all of the ingredients in a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring occassionally until cranberries pop open, about 10 minutes.

      2. Skim any foam from the surface with a spoon. Transfer to bowl and let cool. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
